the Journey of an artist........

works..

A passionate quiller, painter and a loving human being

is currently residing in UP with her family but her heart has

been in Kolkata.

Crafting or painting to her is soulful.............Her Second

exhibition with Art fair, she feels extremely connected to art

and excited to showcase her works and her message to the

masses...We artists are often very soulful, a little different, a

little imaginative and inspirational...our creativity is only our

way of expressing what we see and hear around us.Some

understand it, some partly know it, some even give a

glance,

but there are some who connect to it soulfully....For an

artists the goal is always to have that soulful connect with

another being....to give them that hope to hold on to things

in this life and always find refuge in God's world and his

people.

crafting with paper...is like making the best out of waste she says.A totally self-taught person, dabbling in various crafts and loves experimenting. She Thinks there is no age bar in the field of creativity and to her art is the only way to express herself since It's an essence of humanity. Her form ...the paper quilled jewelry is really a blend of fine craftsmanship and beauty and she loves it since Quilling combines art with utility, it's to painting, what Haiku is to poetry. Her hand made dolls...are a wonderful piece of work to look at...Working in groups exposes one to works & thoughts of others. It develops a community feeling and that is why she wanted to be a part of Art fair form the start...and we are also happy to have such a talented artists with us...we welcome you to Art Fair.with the hope in future...we would be making greater changes in the field of  art and able to express ourselves better..

Young Talent's youthful touch...meet Art Fair's youngest artist as she embark on her exciting journey.....

14 year's old Adeline Benjamin art adventure with Art Fair 4 has begun, our bubbly young talent has love for art and nature. When she isn't painting, she waves her magic with dance and poetry and sings in the fine tunes of life through her voice. We are proud of Adeline for her zeal in life and hoping her works would inspire you as well...

A tete-a-tete with Adeline and her father Victor Benjamin on art, music and life

Adeline may be a book worm who loves to dance and sing but her passion for art made her join Art Fair and her parents proud. She is only 14 and loves to work her magic with oil, pastels and strings of colours.

Q1: what is art to you Adeline? who is your inspiration?

Ans: I loved to draw from my childhood and my father influenced me greatly. My father is great in drawings. When initially I tried drawing, it used to be a mess so it used to upset me alot. I then used to follow my father and his techniques. My mother seeing my interest enrolled me in an art school, there I stared working with oil pastel and various forms and I loved the experience and so I really love this.

Q2: How excited are you about your selection in art Fair?

Ans:I am really excited as I am still young and learning but Art Fair is giving me a chance to interact with so many artists. It's going to be so much fun when I meet them all and see their works. My works would be displayed there and its going to be great.I have participated in three exhibitions organised by my art school before but I always missed attending the inauguration so this time I would be there well in advance.
I always love to see how people react to my paintings, it gives me a boast.

Q3: So in that case your like very famous in your school for your talents?

Ans: In my school I am liked because of my constant participation in dance, singing and other activities. When it comes to paintings I am very much appreciated for my paintings on clean and green city and everybody really appreciates me when I win various painting competitions.

Q4: Any artist that has really touched you?

Ans: Jamini Roy and Nandalal Bose are incredibel…Jamini’s mother and child and Ganesh..her creative lines, the eyes..are very creative..I love them..Nandala Bose is very natural..the one painting that I like is a swan sitting warmly and the woman is sitting beside and thinking…so I love that. So the simpler I find the art the better I understand it.
I feel very lucky to work with artists like you, so inspiring and guiding.

Her father Victor Benjamin made our visit more enjoyable with his interesting anecdotes. He is the one behind Adeline's creative zeal....

"I love art, and always wanted to take this up but couldn’t because of other commitments….What I feel is an artist is meant to create the unimaginable. But now what I see is most artist hanker after sale..the moment they do that a lacuna is build between imagination and livelihood. One has to earn and it’s very difficult for artists. An empty stomach would eventually get ruined. So what I feel is they should earn but they should never forget to learn and carry on exploring. I had one art teacher who wanted me to carry on with my skill..but I couldn’t continue it. My daughter is taking this up and it makes me really happy. At this age I feel she is doing what I felt of doing long time back."

A wonderful and imaginative child.....her works have various shades in them....she is quite good in glass paintings and criss cross works on cloths...you'll get to see her works in Art Fair 4 to be held form 26th to 30th April in Chemould Art gallery, park street..inauguration 4pm...followed by creative perofrmances...So come all and enjoy art.
Art Fair where art meets appreciators

 Keep expressing..keep loving art
